Biography

1995 - Band formed;
recorded the very first song in December for a participation in the "Southern Assault vol. 1" sampler CD (Guardians of Metal 1996 / as "Firstborn Evil").

1996 - A 4 song demo-tape called "Awakening of Evil" was recorded (Sword Prod. 1997 / as "Firstborn Evil").

1997 - Another song recorded for the "Sometimes... Death is Better" sampler CD (Shiver Rec. 1997 / as "Firstborn Evil"). 1998 - Debut album "Rebirth of Evil" recorded, originally intended as a re-release of the 1996 demo-tape. Eventually 8 songs were recorded and the album took form (Guardians of Metal 1998 / as "Firstborn Evil").

2000 - Name shortened to "The Firstborn", sophomore release "... From the Past Yet to Come" released (Guardians of Metal 2000). 2002 - Song recorded for a Tarantula tribute "20 Anos de Tarantula" sampler CD (Recital 2002).

2005 - After 4 years in the writing, the concept-album "The Unclenching of Fists" is finally recorded. Based on the Tibetan "Book of the Dead", it represents a dramatic shift in both style and content for the band (ProCon Media 2005).

2008 - Further exploring the Buddhist philosophy as a foundation for both lyrics and sound, the band travels to Foel Studio in Wales to record "The Noble Search". This album, based on the Buddhist Scriptures, represents further experiments in the direction first explored in 2005's "The Unclenching of Fists" (Major Label Industries 2008).
